The main function of this chip is to isolate 2 circuit which each having their own voltage source, and at the same time help them to communicate.<br /> <br /> The special of this board is, it is designed with exact pin out of FTDI USB-UART modules which is very common used. So its usage is very simple and easy.<br /> <br /> Beside of using SI8642, I also have the version using ADUM1402. The difference is at the maximum data transfer speed. While SI8642 can reach up to 150Mbps, ADUM1402 can have maximum 90Mbps.
