Intro
Digital Isolator for FTDI USB-UART
This board is a break out board of a 4 channels Digital Isolator chip from Silicon Labs. The main function of this chip is to isolate 2 circuit which each having their own voltage source, and at the same time help them to communicate.
The special of this board is, it is designed with exact pin out of FTDI USB-UART modules which is very common used. So its usage is very simple and easy.
Beside of using SI8642, I also have the version using ADUM1402. The difference is at the maximum data transfer speed. While SI8642 can reach up to 150Mbps, ADUM1402 can have maximum 90Mbps. But it have no issue when I tested it with my FT230XS USB-UART.
Schematic
Here is the schematic of the board.
